Our European Adventure Begins

Well, we’re off – for an entire month! Hard to believe that we won’t be back in Phoenix until it’s really, really, REALLY hot! So, we’ll need to figure out a way to pack some of the wonderful Mediterranean breezes in our bags and bring them back with us.

So that you all can follow along, here’s what’s about to happen: today, we’re flying from Phoenix to Cannes, France (actually, the airport is in Nice). Greg will be working for the week at the Cannes Lions Festival – the annual advertising conference. Next weekend, we’ll move “over” to Nice for a day or two, and then head down to Florence, Italy. As strange as it sounds, through all of his globetrotting, Greg has never actually spent any time in Florence – and being that it is Stef’s absolute favorite city in the entire known universe, she’s looking forward to finally being able to know more about a city than Greg does! She’ll have a little help too, because we’re going to spend a few days with our good friend, Rufus, who lives in Florence.

The next stop is 48 hours in Athens – just enough time to walk through the Plaka and climb to the top of the Acropolis. Greg spent many, many summers island hopping in the Greek isles, but he never made it all the way down to Crete. This will be remedied next, as we’ve booked ourselves into a brand new Starwood resort outside of Heraklion – and if the web site’s pictures are any indication, we might have a hard time leaving.

But leave, we will. Santorini is the final port of call, where we’ve booked a fabulous house right on the cliff in the town of Oia (pronounced E-Ah). The pictures from there will definitely have you drooling! But that’s still weeks away… For now, we’re off! Hope you enjoy “traveling” with us!
